Sep 28, 2017 rating: shed wall stud height by: john hi rod, my advice would be to go with 92 5/8" pre-cut studs. if you go with siding panels that are 8', you'll want to make sure that your siding extends down below the floor for weather protection.. 12x16 gable shed design: the 12x16 gable shed is one of our most popular shed plans. the gable end shed plans represent the most common shed design. most of our 12x16 large shed designs and come with either a 7'-7" or 8'-1" wall height option. the gable shed plan includes wall framing plans that allow for the installation of a 6'-8" pre-hung door.. The smaller backyard shed plans come with a 6'-7" wall height which allows the door to be put on either the eve or gable ends of the shed. the lower wall height allows the sheds to be built using less shed building materials but still gives plenty of headroom inside the shed..

Option: 8 ft wall height. you can easily and cheaply make your shed a foot taller. some stores don’t even sell 7ft siding so you might have to buy 8ft siding anyway. rather than cutting it off go ahead and use all 8 feet and gain the extra height. just add 12 inches to all vertical cut measurements..
